We have just spent the last 8 days on this beautiful island having an absolute ball with our 2 kids (10mths, 7yrs) and our 7yr old nephew. We didn't once feel unsafe, yes they have upgraded alot of security which is a good thing. We stayed at the Dynasty Hotel and they were just fantastic - great for kids too! The vendors were a little bit more persistant than usual but they are doing it really hard up there. They did try and sell stuff to the kids a few times but the kids knew the deal and told them firmly NO! Overall our time up there was just perfect.
We all really need to tell people to get on up there so these poor people can get their lives back on track and get Bali thriving again. Our hotel was only 25% full which is sad.
Waterbom park is a MUST. They have a new slide there that opened in Jan 2006 called the BOOMERANG - awesome is all I can say!!!!
Ayung Elephant Park was fantastic too - the kids had a ball riding the elephants and having a water fight with them.
Can't wait to go back!!!!!
