and is similar to any other Cenro or Westfield type of Shopping Centre. It is next door to Kartika Plaza and about a 5 minute walk from Kuta Square. They have lots of specialty shops, a Department store and a full floor of electronics on the top floor. There are great snack bar type restaurants and an excellent Bakery which sells fantastic Chocolate Eclairs which my husband managed to consume at least one of every day. They also have Pizza Hut (like it used to be when they had restaurants), KFC, and Paco Loco out the front of it and a full size Supermarket in the basement area which has all your shopping to stock up your fridge in your hotel room. We always take our green bags with us so we can do our shopping because it is easier than using their smaller plastic bags. Then we leave our green bags with some of the ladies in the markets etc. We found that we liked Discovery Mall better than Mataharis because firstly they seem to have more variety and secondly because we were there last year when the bombing happened and Discovery put on security at all the doors to the centre or shut off the entries that they could not cover and they were checking bags etc before you went in so we felt safe shopping, eating etc there whereas Matahari only had one security guard at the front door even though there where other entry points that were not covered. We just felt that if Mataharis wanted Australian Tourists to shop in their store, they should have provided us with more security so we felt safe to do so.
Hope you have a great trip. We are going again in April School holidays for the 5th time.
