Different shopping experiences, although both worth a visit of course.
Ramayana is a lot more of a "local Indonesian" type department store, often with some microphone spruiker talking things up 10 times louder than neccessary, and laughing at his own jokes!!
Carrefour (French based global stores) is a far more Westernised shopping experience.
There are other small eateries and boutique type shops, and also a kits arcade, but the Carrefour store itself on the top floor is a world class shopping place in my view.
Take a look at the fresh food section and you will be amazed by the selection available.
It is large, and look out for the assistants whipping around on roller blades!!
The travelators between floors automatically lock the wheels on the shopping trolleys to avoid any "downhill speed racing" with a full trolley.
Carrefour is much closer for Kuta/Legian shoppers than Ramayana, but I still like my regular trips into "the city" just the same.
