I bought a beautiful 2.5ct diamond ring from Mayang on Kuta square. It cost 2000USD,and is worth about twice as much here in UK. I haggled a lot, and if you like something a lot, keep going back for another look and you can knock the price down. I got 1600 USD off for being cheeky! It doesnt hurt to try! Get a rough idea of what things cost back home first and youll probably get a bargain. Mayang also give you a certificate with the diamonds, so you know theyre genuine. I have heard of folk being ripped off in Denpasar though. Its best if you know what youre looking for first, and have a bit of knowledge about clarity, colour etc. There are lots of websites where you can bone up on the diamond industry.
